Glen Parker Cycles was established in Nedlands in 1970. Since then it has taken pride in its wide range of product lines and bargain prices, as well as its top-notch service department for repairs and other mechanical issues.

You will be surprised just how many bikes, frames and bits we can fit in our shop. We must be the biggest little bike shop around! See Perth's largest selection of new and second-hand racing bikes. We have over 70 racing bikes and frames in stock, along with a wide selection of other bikes, with new stock arriving constantly.

The stores current proprietors, Dennis Lightfoot and Hilton McMurdo, still actively participate within the cycling scene. Between them they have over forty years of cycling experience in a number of differing disciplines.

Dennis has had over 200 race wins in his career, in numerous countries including France, Belgium, Britain and Australia. Further, he was British National Champion for 1978, 1981 and 1986. Dennis still has an active hand in organising numerous racing events.

Hilton is a regular at cycling races around town, and has a number of accolades under his belt. He has captained teams in the Tour of China, Tour of Korea, and Tour of Siam, and Won the Tour of Thailand twice. In 2005 Hilton Won the Open Criterium in the National Championships, and in 2007 he Won the World Masters Championships for the Track Pursuit.

Carlo Barendilla, our wizard Mechanic, is the Track Star of the shop. Not only has Carlo been the State Champion for the Sprint, Keirin and the Kilo in 2003, 2004 and 2005, but he has also placed 5th in the Nationals for the Sprint in 2004 and 2005. Add to this a spot in the Australian Track Team, and you can be sure Carlo knows what he is doing.

Matt (Mop) Blackwell, Mechanic and Salesperson, is the true all-rounder working at the shop. Mop has worked in bike shops since 1992, and has raced a number of road and off-road events. Most notably Mop has raced Mountain Bikes at a National Level and has placed 5th in the State for Elite Cross Country.

Matt Illingworth is a seasoned professional, and our Time Trail specialist, and brings a load of experience to the shop. He was cycling for the Great Britian national squad from 1986-2000, in which time he road 2 x Olymipics. He also won 3 Medals from 2 Commonwealth Games. Matt has set, and still holds a number of Time Trial Records.

Michael Baird, part time Salesperson and the stores Webmaster, is one of the few mountain bikers working at the shop. Having competed in a number of Cross-Country and Downhill events, Michael has previously placed 6th in the Downhill state title in 1997, and still races off-road when given the opportunity, as well as doing road km.

So if you see them on the road, slow down (or speed up!) and have a chat, as they are always happy and willing to talk bikes.
